NAPLES, Fla. (April 5, 2016) – London Bay Homes’ single-family estate and luxury villa model homes in Mediterra have earned numerous awards for outdoor living, interior design and floor plans that blend indoor and alfresco spaces. The recognition acknowledges the homebuilder’s creativity in capturing the lifestyle of Southwest Florida and the imagination of visitors and homebuyers.

“People walk into our model homes and tend to gravitate toward the outdoor spaces,” said Mark Wilson, president and CEO. “There is an emotional connection to being able to gather and entertain outside while enjoying sunset views, especially during the winter months. Clients who have purchased our models often tell us the outdoor areas played a major role in their decision.”

Many of London Bay’s outdoor spaces offer large covered sitting and dining areas, combinations of fire and cascading water, summer kitchens, custom pools and spas, and tropical landscaping. Chaises are always positioned for optimal sunning and outdoor spaces tend to showcase sunsets over Mediterra’s lakes, nature preserves and golf fairways.

Luxury indoor finishes and amenities – stainless steel appliances, beamed and tongue-and-groove ceilings, artistic tilework and furnishings – are brought outside to enhance the living environment.

The Capriano, a four-bedroom, four-bath luxury villa model in the Lucarno neighborhood, recently received Sand Dollar Awards from the Collier Building Industry Association for its pool design and a 4,402-square-foot floor plan that flows easily between indoor and outdoor spaces.

The model offers numerous gathering areas on its pool deck adjacent to a fireplace, a covered living and dining room with a summer kitchen, and a private second-story balcony and sundeck. Views are oriented to a lake and the custom pool, a traditional linear design with a spa that appears to float within it. A sun shelf offers swim-up access.

Inside, pocketing glass sliding doors in the great room, sliders in the library and double French doors in the master suite open the model to the outdoor living experience. The fully furnished Capriano sold prior to completion but is open for viewing through June.

The three-bedroom Belita, another villa model in Lucarno, was recently awarded Overall Excellence in Construction and Design in the $2 million to $2.5 million category during the CBIA’s 2016 Parade of Homes.

The floor plan features a private patio off the master suite and a large covered outdoor living area with a fully equipped summer kitchen. Its zero-edge pool and spa are flanked by fire bowls anchoring each end toward a large lake.

Sliding doors in the living room and kitchen’s nook enhance the indoor-outdoor connection in the 3,738-square-foot home. The Belita recently sold prior to completion but is available for viewing through October.

A large lake with a fountain provides the backyard backdrop for the Eloro, a three-bedroom luxury villa in Lucarno. A wall of 18-foot pocketing sliding doors in the 3,380-square-foot model’s great room blur boundaries between inside and out as does artwork accenting the main wall of the covered alfresco space. Arches frame views of the custom pool and spa as well as the outdoor summer kitchen. The model also sold on leaseback but is open for viewing through October.

London Bay Homes is the exclusive builder in Lucarno, a neighborhood of 71 lakefront luxury maintenance-free villa homes reminiscent of a European village.

The indoor-outdoor connection of Mediterra’s model home is also enhanced by color palettes, finishes and luxury appointments chosen by Romanza Interior Design for a seamless transition.

“We’re always introducing new features to our outdoor living areas, which are much larger than they were when we launched London Bay 25 years ago,” said Wilson. “This is Florida and this is how people want to live.”

Enhancing the lifestyle of each private residence and model home London Bay Homes builds is the essence behind the company’s commitment to Private Label Living, a promise of quality, luxury and personal expression.

London Bay Homes, which was named America’s Best Builder by Builder Magazine in 2008, and its affiliates manage all new home sales and marketing for Mediterra.

All of the company’s homes are built using the latest information, products and technology available in building science, including the BEP Blue Barrier system that protects against mold issues and structural damage from moisture intrusion.

Enjoying the outdoors is also the focus of many amenities at Mediterra, the CBIA’s nine-time Community of the Year winner and Naples’ premier luxury golf and beach club. The Club at Mediterra features 36 holes of Tom Fazio-designed championship golf; tennis and bocce courts; and the 10,000-square-foot Beach Club with a pool on the Gulf of Mexico. Indoor amenities include formal and casual dining in the denim-approved clubhouse and the Tavern on 18.

Additional home designs in Mediterra – a 2013 Aurora Award winner for Best Residential Development in the Southeast U.S. – include single-family estate homes and single-family maintenance-free villas priced from $1 million to more than $7 million.

The 1,700-acre master-planned Mediterra is located on Livingston Road, two miles north of Immokalee Road and west of I-75.
