NAPLES, Fla. (Dec. 17, 2014) – London Bay Homes, which is building the fifth version of its popular Girona single-family villa at Mediterra, has selected Michael Scott of Romanza Interior Design to create the interior design of the 3,526-square-foot home. The three-bedroom, three-and-one-half-bath Girona is currently under construction in Cortile, a neighborhood of maintenance-free villa and estate homes in Naples’ premier golf and beach club community.

The model, expected to open for viewing in March 2015, features a gray and ivory palette with accents of papaya, plus box-beamed and tongue-and-groove ceilings.

The design “is definitely on the more modern side,” said Scott, who has selected furniture combining white and wood finishes, glass and metallic accents, and woven and caned pieces.

The model’s shellstone floor, installed in a French pattern, will be used throughout most of the home, enhancing the Girona’s open floor plan that combines great room, formal dining room, breakfast nook and kitchen.

Scott’s design for the great room will blend upholstered furniture – some with modern silhouettes – with glass-topped round and rectangular tiered metallic tables, a woven and caned accent chair, and papaya accents.

The dining room will feature a special wall treatment within its niche, and a zebra-print bench and four woven armchairs with nailhead trim circling the table.

Cream-finished cabinetry continues the gray and ivory theme in the kitchen, which will have quartz moonstone countertops. The freestanding island will offer contrast with a taupe quartz countertop and will provide a double sink, dishwasher and space for a wine refrigerator.

The kitchen will have snowdrift ceramic backsplashes and will feature Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances, including a double oven, stainless steel range hood and wine refrigerator.

Shellstone flooring, a simple white and wood desk paired with a modern wood chair, and a papaya-patterned settee will be showcased in the study.

The Girona’s master suite features a trellis at its bedroom door to the lanai. The bedroom will feature a darker shade of gray and offer an upholstered headboard and wood bed, a caned and woven bench, and fabrics with black undertones paired with papaya, gray and golden beige.

The suite also offers his-and-her walk-in closets. Its bathroom will feature a shellstone floor inset with gray natural stone basketweave mosaics, cream-finished vanities and vanilla ice quartz countertops. The thermo-controlled shower will offer a fixed showerhead and hand-held sprayer; the separate tub will be positioned in a window and have a wood paneled skirt and vanilla ice surface.

The Girona’s two guest rooms have private full baths. One of the bedrooms will offer a queen bed with denim-finished nightstands, and its bathroom will have a white mist quartz vanity countertop and vertical mosaic tile accents in its shower wall.

The second bedroom will feature twin beds with upholstered headboards.

Sliding doors in the great room and nook open to a covered living area with motorized screens, a full summer kitchen and pavers installed in a French pattern.

Designed for outdoor living, the Girona will offer open-air, under-roof seating and dining areas. The summer kitchen will have a grill, refrigerator and sink and feature a moonstone countertop and snowdrift ceramic tile accenting its hood. Its boxed-beamed ceiling will be inset with tongue-and-groove featuring a wire-brushed ivory finish, also appearing above the nook and the gallery between the foyer and great room.

The model includes an infinity-edge pool with a jet-black pebbled finish and black glass mosaic tiles.

“The pool and spa are the main features of this model,” said Scott. “The pool water will sheet over the pool and into a trough back-lit with LED lighting around the entire perimeter. A pair of bronze-finished fire bowls will be positioned on each end of the pool.”

The model is also being built with a three-car garage and a private courtyard and fountain located inside a low wall at the front of the home.

Mediterra is Naples’ premier golf and beach club community and eight-time Community of the Year. It received a 2013 Aurora Award for Best Residential Development in the Southeastern United States and ranks as one of the top private clubs in the world by BoardRoom magazine.

The 1,700-acre community offers an array of lifestyle amenities, including the member-owned Club at Mediterra with two world-class Fazio-designed courses and the private 10,000-square-foot Beach Club on the Gulf of Mexico, featuring an elevated swimming pool, casual dining with a full bar, and valet service for beach chairs, umbrellas, and beverage and food menus.

Mediterra’s onsite amenities include themed neighborhood parks; eight miles of walking and jogging trails; a fitness complex with tennis and bocce courts, a pool and spa services.

A recent renovation at the 32,000-square-foot clubhouse updated the interior design of the main dining room, expanded the Club Lounge and kitchen, and introduced al fresco dining options, an exposition kitchen and chef’s table.

The club and Tavern on 18 offer formal and casual dining prepared by a staff of award-winning culinary experts. Additional renovations to the tavern added a fire pit to the popular lounge, which serves gourmet brick-oven pizzas, seasonal salads and open-air grilled entrées.

On the links, Mediterra is in the first year of a two-year $6.1 million project to replace the irrigation system, bunkers, cart paths and turf on its South Course.

Mediterra’s Golf Learning Center offers indoor and outdoor hitting stations, video equipment with launch monitor, a 2.5-acre short game practice complex with three greens, and a staff of certified PGA professionals. Membership opportunities at Mediterra are limited to just 225 members per 18 holes.

All of the community’s amenities are member-owned.

Mediterra’s master plan includes more than 1,000 acres dedicated to open space with golf, parks and nature preserves.

Since December 2009, London Bay Homes and affiliates have managed all new home sales and marketing for the luxury community. Resale properties are listed through Mediterra Realty.

Available home designs in Mediterra include single-family estate homes and single-family maintenance-free villas priced from the $800,000s to more than $7 million.
