A custom outdoor shower accessible from the master bedroom, kitchen cabinetry that opens with a touch of a finger, and multiple outdoor living destinations are among a few of the highlights of London Bay Homes’ Catalina model in Mediterra.

Scheduled for completion in May, the custom model will feature interiors by award-winning Romanza Interior Design and embody a contemporary aesthetic blending rustic and eastern influences punctuated by Asian-inspired accessories and shapes.

The two-story Catalina is located in Cortile, a neighborhood of maintenance-free villa and estate homes in Mediterra, Naples’ 10-time community of the year. The model will offer a formal dining room, great room, bonus room and a second-floor club room with sunset overlook. It also will have dual, two-car garages situated on opposite sides of the entry courtyard.

The 5,288-square-foot Catalina will feature large bedrooms, expanded gathering areas and memory points, including a second-floor balcony situated for easy entertaining. A wine bar, a wet bar, fireside lounging next to the pool, and zero-corner sliding glass doors that open up to a large wraparound alfresco living and dining room will enhance the home’s entertainment factor.

Romanza designers Jennifer Stevens and Deana Skelly selected furniture styles with clean and modern lines, a mix of finishes, including wood, glass, marble and metal, as well as textural and tactile elements to complement the home. Tones of taupe, brown and off-white will provide neutral backgrounds for a color palette of deep bronze, plum and shades of green.

The contemporary style will be introduced in the entry foyer’s wood and acrylic console and large artwork positioned against a subtle shimmering accent wall. The Catalina’s open floor plan flows from the adjoining dining room and great room and through the kitchen and café. Large-format Italian porcelain tile with hues of white and taupe will be used in main living areas.

The generously sized dining room features a suspended floating ceiling detail with wood accents, LED cove lighting and a 45-inch-long, light bronze rectangular chandelier accented with textured mirror. A deep, recessed wall features a dramatic inlaid wood console, modern starburst mirror and teardrop-shaped, mercury gold glass wall sconces.

The wine bar is tucked into the model’s main gallery and will offer a tall wine refrigerator and uncorking station. Finishes will include quartersawn walnut cabinetry, mirrored backsplash and modular storage shelves with recessed LED lighting.

The dramatic gallery ceiling, featuring ‘floating’ backlit sculptured drywall, connects the master vestibule and wine bar and separates the foyer from the spacious great room.

“Ideal for large gatherings or family get-togethers, the great room has two sectional sofas centered on a custom-designed wall featuring a rosewood veneer in a striking diamond pattern,” Stevens said. “The center panel will feature a tall piece of modern art. Recessed art niches on each side will be finished in a subtle shimmering wallcovering with tones of taupe and shades of green.”

Skelly said the home’s aesthetics will play off the model’s emphasis on bronze and light-reflecting metals, combined with various luminous finishes and accent materials, such as the iridescent mosaic glass tile in the master bath.

“The kitchen will be very crisp and contemporary with a mix of white-gloss cabinetry, rich patterned teak wood doors and brushed aluminum accents,” said Skelly. “There’s also an oversized island with two levels, clad in white quartz with taupe and gray accents. The cabinetry will get a lot of attention – one tall section features an electro-mechanical lift for those hard-to-reach upper cabinets.

The kitchen will also offer a six-burner cooktop, steam oven and separate refrigerator and freezer. Perimeter cabinetry is topped with solid pure white quartz and accented with large-format polished white Thassos tiles.

The adjoining café will impart a contemporary vibe with its table – a glass top supported by arching bases in antique alloy and slate and featuring comfortably upholstered seating.

Sliding glass doors in the café open to the wraparound living and dining areas that overlook the custom-designed pool, offering a wet shelf for sunbathing and a raised spa with a spillway. The outdoor area will also have a fire table surrounded by lounge chairs and several ‘destination’ sitting areas accented with sculpture and zen-like water sounds. Furnishings include comfortable woven lounge and dining chairs, chaises, and an upholstered sofa in all-weather fabric for indoor quality comfort.

The outdoor kitchen will offer white tiger granite countertops, a grill and wet multi-level bar for entertaining.

“The full pool bath will feature a mix of materials and textures,” Skelly said. The shower floor will be tiled in smooth gray, taupe and pale green pebbles. The vanity will offer open storage and feature a thick chiseled-edge travertine top. Its full shower will have a frameless enclosure and a built-in shower seat finished in quartz. Tall custom shelving features storage for pool towels.

Both the bonus room and master bedroom will offer a direct connection to outdoor spaces.

The large bonus room will feature wide-plank walnut wood flooring, two modern modular sofas, glass base floor lamps and a custom lacquer finish wall unit with a large wall-mounted TV.

The master suite has dual walk-in closets and a vestibule with a niche created to feature a sculpture. The bedroom features a king-size bed set against a custom paneled wall. Furnishings include wood tones of smoke ash and accent ottomans in a peridot crackle-finished fabric.

The master bath will feature a large contemporary soaking tub, centered in the room in front of the glass-enclosed shower. The deep-taupe polished marble floor will repeat in the walls above dual vanities finished in a high-gloss taupe and accented with stainless steel toe-kick bases, LED lighting, gray chateau quartz countertops, and MTI vessel sinks.

The bathroom will offer a dressing area with a bench and access to a private outdoor shower featuring an offset patterned rough coral stone wall with niches. The rain-head shower will be positioned under an open-air trellis; the shower floor will be fashioned from natural flagstone laid on a bed of smooth Mexican pebbles. Custom-designed bronze metal gates lead out to the garden and pool.

Located on the ground floor, two of the Catalina’s guest bedrooms will have walk-in closets and private full baths. One will offer two queen beds set against a recessed wall finished with textured grasscloth. Furniture will feature rich deep smoked brown finishes; the bedding will introduce off-white, taupe, green and plum accent colors.

Turquoise, azure blue and chartreuse accents will be introduced in lamps, pillows, artwork and accessories in the second bedroom. The room will also embrace a clean, white color palette conveyed in the furnishings, bedding and walls, and continue into the adjoining bathroom. White cabinetry, iridescent basketweave tile and granite countertop will also be featured in the bathroom.

Located nearby will be a large workstation with built-in high-gloss lacquered white cabinetry, a desk with waterfall countertop, storage and shelves and a back wall accented with textured wallcovering. The space leads to an oversized laundry/mud room with additional storage, a seating area, front-load washer and dryer and an ironing board concealed within a drawer.

The custom staircase features a rectilinear and modern design that mixes walnut wood and iron. A wet bar with an under-counter beverage center, gray granite countertop, bar sink and smoky taupe glass backsplash will be positioned at the top of the staircase.

The second floor will offer a fourth bedroom with king-sized bed, club chair and two large custom wardrobes, with a writing desk and lounge space. It will have a neutral palette accented with graphite gray and green.

Custom built-in cabinetry will span the entire length of the club room, incorporating seating area, TV, desk, display and storage spaces, and a large round table dovetailing directly into the unit. The room will also offer an oversized sofa, large club chairs and a trio of aged-brass nesting tables; oversized artwork completes the look.

Sliding glass doors will open to the sunset overlook with views of the pool, nature preserve and golf fairway. Comfortable seating will be oriented to the preserve view and the built-in fireplace clad in a scratched patterned stone.

The Catalina’s architecture will feature clean lines, a brick entry tower and a walkway framed by two fountains.

The model, located at 16987 Cortile Drive in Naples, is priced at $3,995,000, fully furnished.
