London Bay Homes recently collaborated with Clive Daniel Home to furnish its four-bedroom, four-bath Martinique luxury showcase estate in Mediterra’s Lucarno neighborhood. The transitional interior design, curated by designers Jean Losier and Christine Loughery, conveys serene sophistication and subtle drama throughout the home’s 3,564 square feet of living space.
“We are delighted to once again work with Clive Daniel Home in creating a home that truly reflects Southwest Florida’s luxury lifestyle,” said Mark Wilson, president and CEO of the award-winning homebuilder. “By partnering with the region’s industry-leading talents, we elevate the homebuying experience, creating a home that reflects how people envision living in Mediterra.”
Available for immediate occupancy, the Martinique features an open-concept floor plan, expansive outdoor living spaces with an alfresco kitchen, custom-designed pool and spa, and a three-car garage. It reflects London Bay Homes’ newest coastal contemporary-inspired architecture and showcases breathtaking lake views.
Losier and Loughery emphasized natural wood tones inspired by the beamed ceiling above the great room and dining room and created an elevated organic design that’s complemented by a palette of soft creams, cool blues, mist-washed taupes and warm grays with textural elements, brushed metals, champagne finishes and sculptural décor. Painted accent walls and wallpaper provide focal points while bedding imparts blue and natural hues in the master suite and guestrooms. The Martinique’s finish selections by the London Bay team provided a neutral backdrop for the designers.
“The home features very generous spaces and tall ceilings, so scale was extremely important and one of the first things we considered in making our selections,” said Losier. “Our intent was to create a luxe design reflecting the home’s style but with a relaxed feeling to the spaces. We also wanted to showcase design features homebuyers may have never thought of before.”
Those design surprises are represented in the deconstructed façade of the brushed silver-champagne console in the foyer, a variety of mirrors adding depth to tall walls and the elevated organic styling of the dining room table with its live edge and metal base. Touches of black provide contrast while artwork is scaled to its location.
“The tall ceilings provided great opportunities,” said Loughery. “We strategically placed 42-inch abstract mirrors above the dining room console to complement the height. Nothing appears as a perfect box. We drew on natural elements in a refined way.”
The kitchen boasts contrasting countertops and cabinetry in the freestanding island, unique lighting fixtures, an oversized walk-in pantry, and Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances. Vertical detailing on the adjoining great room’s expansive TV wall introduces a cool blue-gray, subtly repeated in the threading of the large sectional’s fabric. Sliding glass doors create a seamless transition to the covered lanai, offering the outdoor kitchen, dining and living areas. The designers added a dining table and crafted a social circle of swiveling chairs with a chat table poised to the fully tiled fireplace.
“We carried the feeling of indoor spaces to outside,” said Loughery. “To us, it’s really important that when you look out or look in, it feels like a continuation of space.”
The master suite features a palette of soft blues, white and touches of crackled black, wood flooring, wallpaper behind the velvet boucle leather-wrapped bed and French doors framed by draperies. Furnishings boast soft curves while bedding is realized in diluted colors. The suite also offers an extra-large walk-in closet and a spa-inspired bathroom with a soaking tub, a walk-in shower and dual vanities.
Three guestrooms provide opportunities for a study and echo the colors used elsewhere in the home. They feature painted bed walls for dimension and contrast. “We treated every space as unique but relating back to main areas of the house,” said Losier. “Each has its own personality.”
