Featured Mediterra New Homes: Explore Wide Open Spaces with the Delfina

Written by Arelys Alexander | January 5, 2016

Winter in Florida is a great time to take a break from the pool and the heat and relish in the crystal blue skies and cool breezes of the more manageable cold weather in the Sunshine State.  Mediterra’s new model home offers the perfect setting to breathe in the fresh air in every room of your house with the open floor plan of the Delfina model.

The Delfina home in Serata at Mediterra is the perfect estate home for couples or families that love to entertain.  One of the highlights of this floor plan has always been the game room adjacent to the family room due to the ease of entertaining this layout offers.  Game days will get even better with the pop-up television that separates the two rooms and joins the second television and the billiards table in the game room. The open floor plan in this lakefront home also blends the family room to the kitchen providing a grand space with high ceilings and a gorgeous waterfront view out of the zero corner sliding glass doors in the family room.  Sliding glass doors in the living room also provide a lovely view of the lake while the built-in cabinetry featuring art and accessories adds style to the space.

If watching the game on Sundays isn’t your idea of a relaxing and good time, imagine having your friends and family over for a picturesque al fresco dining experience.  Located on one of the few remaining lakefront home sites in this exclusive new home community, the Delfina has an accentuated outdoor living space created by  London Bay Homes and Romanza Interior Design. The Delfina has an expansive screened-in living area that offers seating and dining areas, as well as seating around a quaint fire pit for when the temperatures drop.  Black walnut resin wicker, polished concrete-accented pieces, and a shaded dome day bed will make you feel as though you can spend the entire day enjoying the beautiful weather in Southwest Florida and the outdoor kitchen featuring a stainless steel Wolf grill and Sub-Zero refrigerator will make sure you will not need to go inside to break for lunch, allowing you to thoroughly enjoy the glory of the outdoors.  Outside of this outdoor living space is a sparkling pool and spa that add ambiance to the outdoor space, even if it may be a little too breezy to enjoy during the winter months.

As for the rest of the model home, this second Delfina model will feature some of the same characteristics of the first, as well as a brand new interior design from Melissa Allen, Senior Designer at Romanza Interior Design.  Allen chose a transitional interior design for the four bedroom, four-and-one-half bathroom home, highlighted by turquoise and magenta against neutral off-white, taupe, and gray backgrounds.  Mixed finishes, including stainless steel, gray pearl, metallic antique pewter, ebony, white lacquer, weathered wood and glass, will be found throughout the home’s 4,329 square feet.  Hickory wood flooring with a dusty ash finish set in five-inch wide random-length planks will lie in the family room, living room, study, game room, and master suite.

The kitchen carries on the color scheme with a light gray granite waterfall countertop, painted white cabinetry, and a crystal gray shell linear glass tile backsplash, along with stainless steel appliances like the Wolf oven, cooktop and microwave, Sub-Zero side-by-side refrigerator, and Asko dishwasher.  The kitchen’s freestanding oak island was painted black to match the design and a gray coffered ceiling completes the look.  This gray coffered ceiling is also found in the nook and family room to fuse the areas.

The Delfina’s master suite is located in its own wing tucked away on the side as you pass the study and powder bath.  The main focus of the room is a weathered oak poster bed with linen headboard and footboard panels accented with nailhead trim.  This bed blends nicely with the room’s hickory wood flooring featuring a dusty ash finish.  Walking past the home’s his-and-her walk-in closets allows homeowners to reach the master bathroom showcasing his-and-her vanities painted dolphin gray and featuring Bianco Raffello marble countertops.  The serpentine-shaped glass tile backsplash will offset the Calcutta porcelain tile floor and accent the tiled shower walls.
