Every year, the CBIA evaluates the luxury home communities in Collier County to see which one stands above the rest. The Community of the Year award recognizes the quality of design of the community’s overall amenity package. It also evaluates the recreation provided, including clubhouse, golf, tennis, and swimming facilities, as well as outdoor use amenities such as paths, gazebos, and sculptures that add to the quality of the community. Mediterra is honored to be recognized as a Naples luxury community and will continue to improve upon the quality of this luxury home community in every way.  We currently offer an array of luxury amenities, including the member-owned Club at Mediterra with [two Tom Fazio-designed championship courses](https://mediterranaples.com/golf-courses.php) and the [private 10,000-square-foot Beach Club](https://mediterranaples.com/the-beach-club.php) on the Gulf of Mexico.  Our onsite amenities include themed neighborhood parks; eight miles of walking and jogging trails; a [fitness complex](https://mediterranaples.com/the-fitness-club.php) with tennis and bocce courts, swimming pool and spa services; and the 29,000-square-foot clubhouse offering formal and casual dining prepared by a staff of award-winning culinary experts.  The [Clubhouse](https://mediterranaples.com/the-club.php) is currently undergoing a two-phase, $8.9 million, 12,500 square foot clubhouse improvement project to further improve member enjoyment and facilitate a healthy, active, and engaged lifestyle. In addition to the prestigious Community of the Year award, Mediterra was also recognized for its Move-In-Ready homes built by [London Bay Homes](https://www.londonbay.com/) and designed by [Romanza Interior Design](https://www.romanza.com/). The popular Girona villa home in Cortile won the award for Interior Design of the Year, while the Capriano villa home in Lucarno took home the Product Design of the Year and Best Pool Design awards. [![The Girona Villa Home in Cortile at Mediterra](https://blog.mediterranaples.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/Girona-Pool-1.jpg?width=920&name=Girona-Pool-1.jpg "The Girona Villa Home in Cortile at Mediterra")](https://blog.mediterranaples.com/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/Girona-Pool-1.jpg) The [maintenance-free Girona villa home](https://mediterranaples.com/home/girona-coming-soon/) is a homeowner favorite with its open floor plan and its smooth transition from indoor space to outdoor space with floor-to-ceiling windows in the main living and dining spaces and arched openings in the alfresco area framing views of the home’s pool, raised spa, and nature preserves. For the award-winning interior design, Michael Scott from Romanza opted for a modern design aesthetic including gray and ivory colors accented with papaya, box-beamed and tongue-and-groove ceilings, and white- and wood-toned furniture finishes mixed with glass, metallic, caned and woven surfaces. [![The Capriano villa home offers one example of London Bay Homes' custom outdoor living spaces with a view](https://blog.mediterranaples.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/Capriano_MED_15_Pool-Dusk-1.jpg?width=920&name=Capriano_MED_15_Pool-Dusk-1.jpg "The Capriano villa home offers one example of London Bay Homes' custom outdoor living spaces with a view")](https://blog.mediterranaples.com/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/Capriano_MED_15_Pool-Dusk-1.jpg) The [luxury Capriano villa home](https://mediterranaples.com/home/capriano-coming-soon/) invites you to take in the beauty of Lucarno with a picturesque outdoor living space designed to make the most out of your backyard views of the lake and Italian gardens. This space offers everything you need to luxuriate in outdoor living with an infinity-edge pool designed by [Acquatico](http://www.acquaticopools.com/) and highlighted by an outdoor fireplace, tan chaises, and parakeet green ceramic tables and urns, as well as open-air, under-roof seating, and dining areas that create the perfect place to relax and take in the allure of the space. The 4,402-square-foot villa’s open floor plan opens up to this alfresco living room through sliding glass doors in the expanded great room, dining area, and kitchen. On the second floor, a private balcony and sundeck overlooks the pool so you can appreciate your views wherever you may be in the home. All four of these 2015 Sand Dollar awards come shortly after Mediterra earned its [third distinguished Emerald Club Award](https://blog.mediterranaples.com/three-times-a-winner-mediterra-receives-third-distinguished-emerald-club-award/), which is assigned to the top five percent of private clubs in the world by Boardroom Magazine, and the award for [No. 1 community in Florida for retirees](https://blog.mediterranaples.com/mediterra-named-best-retirement-community-in-florida/) by Best Retirement Destinations.
