London Bay’s new Clara villa model balances modern, classic interior design

NAPLES, Fla. (May 27, 2014) – Modern classic design is interjected with touches of traditional in the interior design of the Clara, one of the luxurious, maintenance-free, single-family villa model homes at Mediterra.
Featuring interior design by Michael Scott of Romanza Interior Design, the three-bedroom Clara features white and gray backdrops for soft blue and green accents, darker grays and bright whites contrasted by the rich dark shades of cabinetry and furniture tones. The home is the third completed model in Cabreo, the newest luxury enclave at Mediterra, Collier County’s eight-time community of the year and Naples’ premier golf and beach club community.
London Bay Homes is the exclusive builder in Cabreo, offering 23 remaining homesites in the intimate neighborhood of 39 homes.
Encompassing 3,248 square feet of living space, the Clara is the largest of Cabreo’s three floor plans. Open daily for viewing, the home features formal living and dining rooms, a study, family room, three full baths and a powder room. Scott transformed a home office between kitchen and dining room into a butler’s pantry/wine bar with cabinetry and an under-counter wine refrigerator.
The model is shown with several options including decorative stonework, a three-car garage, full summer kitchen, pool and spa.
The interior design’s combination of white and gray begins in the foyer with white painted walls and stone-like flooring – 16-by-24-inch pearl-gray porcelain tile installed in a running bond pattern and used in all rooms except bedrooms and the study. The foyer and living room’s 13-foot tall ceilings have crown molding and millwork painted bright white.
Wide-planked maple flooring with a dark brown finish is introduced in the study, which offers a simple desk and upholstered desk chair in dark gray. The pattern of an upholstered swivel chair and matching ottoman emulates peacock feathers in shades of brown and gray. A red side table adds a splash of whimsical color. The ceiling is accented with crown molding and beams.
The nearby master suite is light and bright with lots of windows and custom woven window shades. Its headboard and footboard curve in and are stained to show the grain of the dark wood. The dresser has the same finish and offers a row of four smaller drawers with a black finish in the center.
A bench on caster legs is upholstered in a tweed-like fabric. The tray ceiling is accented with painted crown and applied moldings and the four-light chandelier ceiling fan combines wrought iron and a chestnut wood finish.
The master suite also offers his-and-her walk-in closets.
Pearl-gray porcelain flooring continues into the master bathroom, which offers a large soaking tub and shower with a hand-held sprayer. The bath offers his-and-her vanities with painted finish cabinetry, autumn-hued quartz countertops, and a vanity stool upholstered in a textured gray-brown fabric. The room also has a private water closet and four wrought-iron wall sconces with a silver-leaf mirrored finish.
Two guest rooms offer walk-in closets, ceilings with painted wood crown molding, and private full baths with bisque-finished cabinetry, autumn Giallo ornamental countertops, and a custom chair rail in showers.
One of the rooms has a king-size bed with wood headboard and base – a boxy look repeated in matching nightstands with splayed legs. Its bath offers a walk-in shower.
The second guest room’s twin beds have white headboards accented by onion-shaped finials and lattice and are flanked by wood nightstands. An upholstered chair has a scooped back and tweed-like fabric.
The modern vibe with classic accents continues in the living room with a contemporary-styled sofa covered in blue-gray upholstery and the dark woods of a clean-lined coffee table with metal legs and end tables.
The adjoining dining room has a round wood table with splayed legs and the blocked pattern of its six upholstered chairs introduce aqua, sage green and gray. A six-light chandelier with a washed wood finish hangs from the circular form within a beamed ceiling.
Floor-to-ceiling flat-panel shaker-style cabinetry in the eat-in kitchen is stained dark brown and complemented by white quartz countertops. An extended island provides seating for four at bar chairs upholstered in a saddle-hued fabric and accented with nail-head trim. The three lights of the pendants above have a historic nickel finish and resemble lanterns.
The kitchen offers an urban putty-hued gloss ceramic backsplash and GE Monogram stainless steel appliances, including a dual-fuel six-burner range, wall oven, microwave and side-by-side refrigerator.
The adjacent family room features gray upholstered sofas with classic styling. Accent tables have a rustic wood finish, a TV credenza features a textural fluted front, and the cocktail table provides storage underneath for an ottoman upholstered in the same color as the kitchen’s bar chairs. A dark woven chair adds a touch of the tropics and patterned cushions continue the tones of gray, aqua and sage. The room also has two wall sconces with a bronze-leaf finish and hardback linen shades, and its ceiling is embellished with painted crown molding.
Emphasizing outdoor living and lake views, the Clara’s living room, kitchen and family room open through sliding glass doors to the pool deck and outdoor living area, surfaced with shell-stone pavers. The al fresco space features a summer kitchen and a free-form pool with raised circular spa.
The built-in summer kitchen offers a stainless steel grill, refrigerator and sink and quartz countertops. The covered outdoor living area provides seating at a rectangular stone-topped dining table with a chicklet border and six chairs covered with all-weather gray-blue fabric. The same fabric covers swivel chairs circling a round cocktail table in a conversation grouping.
The model’s pool has a pebble finish and a raised tiled spa. Four chaises create a resort-inspired setting with sling fabric and glazed chocolate drum-shaped stools as tables.
The 4,743-total-square-foot Clara is priced as shown with options at $1,453,300, furnished.
Available with multiple elevations, the model’s exterior architecture features a two-story entry tower clad in decorative stacked stone, a metal inset grill and bronze-colored windows.
Cabreo’s three floor plans each offer three bedrooms plus a study in 2,800 to 3,248 square feet of living space. London Bay offers numerous options that allow homebuyers to personalize their homes inside and out.
Homes and homesites in the neighborhood are priced from the $800,000s, and lawn and landscape maintenance is provided by the homeowners association.
