NAPLES, Fla. (Aug. 9, 2016) – Mediterra was recognized with a coveted Grand Aurora Award for Best Community Site Plan during the 35th Annual Aurora Award competition recently presented by the Southeast Building Conference (SEBC) and the Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA).

London Bay Homes’ Capriano model home in Mediterra also earned an Aurora Award for best custom home in the 4,000 to 6,000 square foot category. Nestled within Lucarno – a village neighborhood inspired by the charm and classic style of Europe’s Mediterranean region – the four-bedroom, single-family luxury villa has won numerous awards. The popular home sold for $2.4 million prior to its completion. Two additional Capriano models showcasing the award-winning talent of Romanza Interior Design are currently under construction and scheduled for completion this fall.

“From its homes to its coveted lifestyle, Mediterra was designed as Naples’ premier luxury golf and beach club community,” said Mark Wilson, president and CEO of London Bay Homes. “No detail has been overlooked, including an ambience reminiscent of the Italian countryside with its rolling hills and tree-shaded streets.”

Judges considered not only Mediterra’s beauty – from its entry and individual neighborhoods, as well as homes, like the Capriano – but also its amenities, topography, environmental landscape, streetscapes, common areas and recreational spaces.

Mediterra offers intimate neighborhoods tucked into nature preserves, parks, lakes, a formal European garden, and the community’s two Tom Fazio-designed championship golf courses. In addition to a private Beach Club on the Gulf of Mexico, Mediterra offers eight miles of walking and jogging trails; a fitness complex with tennis and bocce courts, swimming pool and spa services; and a 32,000-square-foot clubhouse featuring formal and casual dining.

Honoring businesses in architectural design, interior design and planning, the Aurora Award competition drew 335 entries in 57 categories. Mediterra competed against communities within the 12-state region stretching west to Texas and Louisiana, north to Virginia and also including the eastern Caribbean.
