NAPLES, Fla. (Oct. 5, 2015) –Mediterra received the prestigious Community of the Year award for the ninth year during the Collier Building Industry Association’s 2015 Sand Dollar Awards.

Planned for just 950 homes, Mediterra offers intimate neighborhoods tucked into nature preserves, parks, lakes, a formal European garden and two Tom Fazio-designed championship golf courses. In addition to a private Beach Club on the Gulf of Mexico, Mediterra offers eight miles of walking and jogging trails; a fitness complex with tennis and bocce courts, swimming pool and spa services; and a 32,000-square-foot clubhouse featuring formal and casual dining.

Homes boast architectural elements reminiscent of its Italian-inspired setting, neighborhoods along the scenic main road are announced by Italianate markers and streets are illuminated with authentically correct lighting.

“Mediterra was designed as Naples’ premier luxury golf and beach club community, offering the area’s most coveted lifestyle and homes,” said Mark Wilson, president of London Bay Homes, which oversees sales and marketing for the 1,700-acre gated master-planned community. “From Mediterra’s welcoming bougainvillea-entwined entry pergola to its fountained cobblestone roundabout and intimate neighborhoods, no detail is overlooked including an ambience reminiscent of the Italian countryside with its rolling hills and tree-shaded streets.”

The community offers an array of lifestyle amenities, including The Club at Mediterra, ranked as one of the top private clubs in the world by BoardRoom magazine.

The recently renovated and redesigned clubhouse is the hub of the community’s lifestyle, offering golf facilities, formal and casual dining, outdoor terraces and the popular Tavern lounge.

The neighboring Sports Club’s emphasis on fitness and wellness contributed to the community’s ranking as one of the healthiest communities in the country. The facility also offers a tennis complex, bocce courts and resort-inspired amenities, including spa treatments and a swimming pool. Mediterra’s 10,000-square-foot Gulf of Mexico beach club offers a second-floor pool, indoor and outdoor dining and bar, and beachside concierge service.

All of the community’s amenities are membership-owned.

London Bay Homes, a leader in the Southwest Florida luxury home market for 25 years, was one of only two companies named America’s Best Builder by Builder Magazine in 2008. They’re currently offering single-family estate homes and single-family maintenance-free villas priced from $1 million to more than $7 million in Mediterra. The community is more than 95 percent sold out.

CBIA is comprised of dedicated industry professionals who are inspired to make a difference in the community through advocacy, education, networking and philanthropy. The Sand Dollar Awards recognize excellence in building, development, landscape design, interior design, remodeling, commercial design, advertising, marketing and sales.
