London Bay Homes has chosen Michael Scott from the award-winning Romanza Interior Design team to create the interiors for the Palmero, a luxury villa home in Lucarno at Mediterra.
The Palmero luxury villa home draws inspiration from one of London Bay Homes’ best-selling, award-winning floor plans to create an enlarged living space that promotes openness in the main living areas and highlights an easy transition from indoor to outdoor spaces. With these design specifications in mind, Michael Scott of Romanza Interior Design has chosen a sophisticated interpretation of traditional, classic design to enhance the architectural details in the home’s 3,947 square feet.
Walking through the covered entry into the foyer, guests are greeted with rich medium brown, plank wire-brushed oak floors and distressed wood box beams that can be seen throughout the main living areas to further emphasize the flow throughout the home’s architectural design. The same emphasis on wood can be found in the oak plank-top dining table in the formal dining room to the immediate right of the foyer and in the rustic walnut media and cocktail tables in the great room just past the foyer and gallery. A palette of cream, sand, and blue found in the fabrics, artwork, and accessories of the home offer a delicate respite from the darker wood furniture.
The great room leads guests directly to the luxury kitchen with adjoining cafe area where Scott has created a culinary haven for you to prep and cook delicious meals for a romantic dinner for two or a large gathering of friends and family. Your home chef’s dream can be made in front of the range wall which features a stainless-steel Wolf 48-inch range with six burners, an infrared griddle, and dual convection ovens set against a Calacatta gold marble mosaic and painted, moderate white finish perimeter cabinets. The gourmet kitchen’s maple island with an espresso finish offers a color contrast to the white cabinets that is made more subtle with the inclusion of white Statuario quartzite countertops and a white, single-bowl, apron-front sink with a stainless steel high arch pulldown spray faucet that makes cleanup faster and easier. This luxury kitchen also includes a Sub-Zero French door refrigerator with freezer drawer below, a dishwasher paneled to match the cabinets, and a stainless-steel Wolf drop-down microwave oven. An additional pantry, as well as the added cabinet and counter space and under-counter Sub-Zero wine cooler in the walk-through butler’s bar, can be used for storage and extra space when your guest list just keeps growing.
Heading back towards the great room, you will be able to access the three bedrooms, study, and three-and-one-half bathrooms of the single-family estate model home through the gallery. To the right, you’ll find two guests bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a laundry room, and access to the two-car garage with an air-conditioned storage area. To the left, you’ll find the study, where you can find time to do a little work from home or manage your finances on the washed oak finish desk and bookcase, or just relax with a good book on the soft navy leather lounge chair with soft blue accent fabrics. The powder bathroom can be found just outside of the study, followed by the master vestibule leading to your master suite.
The master suite follows the sophisticated and classic design found throughout the home with the same oak flooring, but adds an ivory hand-loomed wool area rug to soften the look. A king-sized bed upholstered in creamy fabric sits centrally, flanked by two blue and white chests. A large vintage oak cabinet with storage drawers and glass door with display shelves adds to the room, while an intimate sitting area located just in front of a French door that opens to a trellised patio off the pool deck provides a peaceful space to enjoy a little quiet time.
Walk down the hallway and you’ll find two large walk-in closets leading you to the master bathroom. This spa-like bath features an open glass-encased, double-entry shower with dual showerheads with digital controls and an inset mosaic floor in Carrara marble. An elegant, free-standing soaking tub with a floor–mount filler in polished chrome is positioned before the shower. Step through the doors in the bathroom and you’ll find yourself in a private courtyard featuring an outdoor shower and a fountain. A detached one-car garage can also be found on this side of the home, located a short distance from the fountain at the front of the home and separated by beautiful landscape.

The outdoor kitchen includes a built-in stainless-steel grill, under counter refrigerator, and stainless-steel sink with walnut-finished louver cabinets.
The Palmero’s custom pool features a sun shelf and raised spa, as well as a spillway that flows to a cobalt blue mosaic tile. Just beyond the spa is a copper fire bowl in an oil-rubbed bronze finish that is surrounded by three loveseats.
