Two Tom Fazio-designed golf courses, a prestigious private beach club, and a 25,000 square foot Clubhouse, which is currently being expanded to 32,000 square feet, are just some of the reasons Mediterra is continually being recognized for excellence. Its latest designation is the No. 1 community in Florida for retirees.
Awarded by Best Retirement Destinations, this title further cements Mediterra’s stellar reputation. The premier beach and golf club community earned a perfect score across all five categories, which included home options, visual appeal, recreational activities, social networking opportunities, and safety.
“We’re certainly pleased that Mediterra has received this recognition, particularly since Best Retirement Destinations considers social opportunities in its ranking process,” said Mark Wilson, president and CEO of London Bay, which manages new home sales and marketing for the luxury community. “Mediterra was designed with amenities that foster camaraderie and friendships among neighbors of all ages.”
Mediterra’s growing list of accolades includes the prestigious Distinguished Emerald Club Award by BoardRoom magazine, given to the top five percent of private clubs in the world, the 2013 Aurora Award for Best Residential/Mixed Use Land Development in the Southeast Region, the honor of being named one of the 50 Best Golf Communities in America by Golf Digest, and the CBIA’s Sand Dollar award for Community of the Year, an award it has won eight out of 12 years.
